Tel Aviv streets were covered with yellow on Saturday night, while hundreds of yellow vests protested against the increased cost of living in Israel.
"We will not stop, we will not give in and we will bring hope to many who struggle to warm their houses this winter," said David Mizrahi, one of the protest organizers.
The movement that only started a week ago, in mid-December, in Israel, followed the wave of "yellow west" protests in France, which began in May 2018, mainly opposed to the high coast of living and rising fuel prices.
The Israeli copy has similar goals – stopping rising electricity and water prices, which they believe will affect food prices directly.
"The government is doing everything to avoid solving the problem. Cut the cost of living right away! Cut the price of gas!" Orly Barlev, another protest organizer said. "The Minister of Finance and Energy could change the price of gas tomorrow and lower electricity prices and the cost of living."
The movement has already made some head start, and encouraged Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon to talk to the CEO of Osem. As a result, Osem froze the price growth.
