The woman was allegedly injured, but officials have not said how serious.

The video was first purchased by the San Francisco Examiner.

"The door closed with less than half an inch between the door and the door stop when she reached her hand in the door," said Paul Rose, spokesman for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, in an interview with San Francisco ABC station KGO.

SFMTA, which operates the train line, recently purchased new Muni train cars, including the one involved in the accident.

"These trains and doors are safe," Rose said. "They operate as the design, they were certified by CPUC [California Public Utilities Commission] and they have been through six months of testing before putting them into use."

The CPUC has said it will examine the doors and the pin system, according to KGO.
