When will Apple announce iPhone 11 in 2019?

Every year, Apple needs to whip up something exciting to get people hyped about the next iPhone. The same is especially true for this year. Since iPhone sales dropped 1[ads1]2% in the third quarter, expected profits to drop to $ 9.6 billion and more people who traded in iPhones for Android need the company to ensure that the iPhone 11, 11R and 11 Max (or whatever they will be called) will be compelling enough to draw new customers or keep current customers up to date.
So when will Apple officially announce iPhones for 2019? The company has not sent out invitations to any iPhone events yet, but based on previous years, I predict that Apple will unveil the next iPhones on Tuesday, September 10. Keep in mind that this is just an educated guess, and we have no confirmation from Apple even if this date is correct (Apple did not immediately respond to a request to comment.) However, there are a few reasons why this is the most likely date.

Over the past seven years, Apple has announced iPhones either in the same week as Labor Day, which is the first Monday in September, or the following week. Lately, if the US holiday happened on September 3 or earlier, Apple announced its iPhone the following week. When Labor Day landed on September 5 or later, as it did in 2015 and 2016, the Apple iPhone announced the following Wednesday (two days after Labor Day). Check out the chart below to see what I mean:

This year is Labor Day on Monday, September 2nd. In line with the pattern, Apple will announce its new iPhones the following Tuesday or Wednesday: September 10 or September 11. Either date fits the pattern, but since the news cycle September 11 is best avoided for obvious reasons. I would go with September 10 as the safer option. I also predict that pre-orders will start on Friday 13th. September.
The date is also in line with the expected release and shipping date in the store, which I expect both to drop on Friday 20. September. For the past seven years, you can buy the regular flagship iPhones on a Friday, around the third week in September, about a week and a half after Apple announces. Special iPhones, such as the iPhone XR iPhone X and iPhone SE were broadcast on their own timelines. Because the iPhone XR was available in October, there is a chance that the iPhone 11R will be in users' hands in October as well.
There you have it. I think Apple will announce new iPhone 11s September 10, with pre-orders September 13 and shipping from September 20. Again, without Apple's confirmation, these are just predictions, but we'll find out soon enough if I'm right. Last year I bet on a box of coke if I turned out to be a vote, which I was. (I'm still waiting for that soda BTW.) If I vote this year, I'll bet … a box of Pocky.
