What to know about the new ferry terminal at Seattle's Colman Dock
Walk-on passengers are now using a new ferry terminal at Seattle's Colman Dock. The first completed area of the terminal opened on Sunday.
Colman Dock is the largest ferry terminal in the state of Washington, serving passengers from Seattle to Bainbridge Island and Bremerton.
These are the changes walk-on passengers should know about access to the new terminal, according to WSDOT:
- Stairs on Alaskan Way near Columbia Street that connect the street to the terminal level.
- A footbridge between Colman Dock and Marion Street Bridge on a new route along Columbia Street and Western Avenue.
- Stairs at the southwest corner of the pier near the new ferry facility that will only pass Pier 50.
- ADA access will remain on the existing elevators on the Alaskan Way for the construction of the new elevators near the Pier 50 terminal only is complete.
The changes do not affect motorists or cyclists who board a Washington State Ferry.

A new closed walkway connects the temporary Marion Street Bridge to the terminal. At high traffic times, walk-on passengers will line up in the new walkway with separate areas for the two routes.
The new ferry terminal includes a manned ticket booth and self-service kiosks. Passengers can save time by purchasing tickets online in advance.
