It is time for another mention of significant electric vehicles (EV) changes. Read through for remarkable news about Tesla, other EV and EV policies, among others.
Tesla opened Model 3 order in Europe and China (for non-reservation owners).
Tesla stated that the model Y was probably built on Gigafactory 1 and Gigafactory 3.
Tesla broke the ground on Gigafactory 3 in China and Elon Musk talked to local media.
Tesla changed model S and model X prices and nomenclature, eliminating any indication of battery capacity in the trim name. In addition, the company reduced the model S & X production time after cutting the 75 kWh model S from the selection list.
Tesla also announced redundancies of approx. 7% of their full-time workforce.
Tesla Model 3 received the best 3 to 5 year resale value estimate from Kelley Blue Book in the category luxury car, mid-range car categories and electric vehicle categories. This analysis coincided well with our own finding that depreciation on Model 3 was much better than depreciation on other models in its class.
Although the sale itself was in 2018, in January we received several updates regarding auto sales which indicated Tesla's huge position in the market.

- In addition, Model 3 was the best-selling luxury car in the country and 11th best-selling car overall.
- Model S represented more than a third of large luxury car sales in the US in 2018.
- Total Tesla scored ~ 20% of 2018 luxury car sales in the home country.
- We reported that Tesla Model 3 was the best-selling car in the US in the fourth quarter.
- We also decided that Tesla sold ~ 30,000 more cars in 2018 than Pors Che and ~ 46,000 more cars than Jaguar.
