Walmart, the nation's largest employer, pays its US business executives on average $ 175,000 a year, according to a new company report.

The Dealer's Initial Environmental, Social and Governance Report released Wednesday says Walmart's 1 million plus US workers earn more than the federal federal wage of $ 7.25, with an average full-time worker salary of $ 14.26 per hour.

94-page report describes the company's goals, progress and achievements in key areas, including climate change, sustainability of supply chains and financial opportunity for employees and communities.

"We believe it is important to run our business in a way that gives lasting value to our customers, our employees, our shareholders and the community more broadly," wrote Walmart Inc. CEO Doug McMillon in a letter included in the report .

The company issued a statement on Tuesday promising to have 100 percent recyclable packaging for all private label products by 2025.

In February, Walmart introduced paid rebates that employees can use when they are ill or otherwise miss work. For shining presence, employees can earn an additional 25% on their quarterly bonuses.

The retail giant has also increased training opportunities for employees and trained about 450,000 employees last year through the Walmart Academy program.

"We invest in our employees through salaries along with better educational opportunities, benefits and training" McMillon said.
