The ledger chain formally accused Tesla of breach of contract, gross negligence and failure to meet industry standards. It wanted Tesla not only to pay compensation related to the first, but to remove the panels from over 240 Walmart stores.

However, there is a good chance Tesla will strike back. The company has struggled to revive its solar cell business, which installed a modest 29MW of solar power in the second quarter compared to more than 200MW at the division's top. The last thing it needs is to lose a bigger distribution and suffer the negative publicity that comes with that loss.
