Walmart launches big sales – one day ahead of Amazon Prime Day
Walmart jumps Amazon, launches a summer sale just one day ahead of Prime Day, e-commerce behemoth's biggest sale of the year.
The biggest retailer of world sales starts Sunday and last Wednesday, and offers – similar to Amazon – free two-day shipping orders over $ 35. Prime Day, meanwhile, begins Monday and last through Tuesday.
Like Amazon, just about anything will be for sale at Walmart, from gaming devices to smart home gadgets.

Prime Day, which is when subscriber service members can find special offers on the company's website and in the Whole Foods store, began in 201[ads1]5. It has become a massive shopping event ever since.
Last year, Amazon's Prime Minister Dag was the "biggest in history", when the main members bought more than 100 million products during the sale. And in 2017, the company said sales increased more than 60 percent – breaking a record at that time, surpassing Amazon's Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.
The popularity of events has left other dealers scrambling to find ways to compete.
Target will also join the sales pitch this week, and run "appointment days" on Monday and Tuesday, same dates as Prime Day. Target said it will offer 40 percent of some furniture and 30 percent of some cookware and small appliances. It is in addition to other deals on toys, sports equipment and bedding.
