Walmart is reportedly planning to roll out floor cleaning, stock-bearing robots to their stores

New reports claim that Walmart will soon use robots to automate some of the most time-consuming tasks the employees perform.

Although the retail giant does not fully replace its cash lines as Amazon has done yet, it will use robots to "clean floors, sort inventory" and rotate inventory through its stores.

These tasks, although simple, represent quite a large part of a given Walmart worker's daily life. With potentially thousands of customers coming in and out of a single store every day, tasks such as cleaning, sorting inventory, and stocking are pretty close to full-time jobs by themselves.

In any case, to begin with, Walmart will be bringing these new robots to 1500 locations across the United States. Given that the retail chain is estimated to have about 4,700 stores in operation that write, this means that around 31 percent of them will have robot assistants working with people.
