Volkswagen remembers over 56,000 cars and SUVs in the United States, because the rear spiral springs can be broken without notice and cause people to lose control of their vehicles.
The recall covers certain 201
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says in documents released Thursday that a damaged spring can damage a tire or become a danger to traffic. The documents did not mention any crashes or injuries.
The security agency says that a part-maker used the wrong material or production process to make the springs.
Dealers replace the defective parts. The recall begins on April 19th.
