Vaping risk scares local teens, but many are too addicted to quit

Vaping has consumed teenagers across the country, according to students, many to the point of addiction. Juuls in particular, the rectangular devices that look more like a USB drive than an e-cigarette, lurk in the background of almost every aspect of many teenage conversations, school days and social life. Schools enforce strict rules to curb use, place vape detectors around campus, assign staff to monitor hallways and bathrooms, get kids to sign contracts against gunfire, and meet with parents to try to deter what authorities and health professionals call an epidemic.
