US stock futures jump on China’s interest rate cuts
Global equities and US stock futures rose, recovering somewhat after the S&P 500 was about to plunge into a bear market and the Chinese central bank cut a key policy rate.
Futures related to the S&P 500 climbed 1.1%, indicating that the broad-market index may pick up again after closing down 0.6% and reaching its lowest level since March 2021 on Thursday. Nasdaq-100 futures rose 1.4%, indicating an increase in technology stocks after the opening clock. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures ticked up 0.9%.
