(Reuters) ̵[ads1]1; US antitrust regulators have shared Amazon control. com Inc. and Alphabet Inc. are Google and placed Amazon under the supervision of the Federal Trade Commission and Google under the Ministry of Justice, said Washington Post on Saturday.
Amazon may face increased antitrust control under a new agreement between US regulators that puts the ecommerce giant under the trade commission's watch, reported the newspaper and quoted people who were familiar with the case.
Developments are the result of the FTC and the Ministry of Justice, which clearly split competition views on both US tech giants, Amazon and Google, said the newspaper that FTC's plans for Amazon and the Ministry of Justice's interest in Google were not immediately clear.
The news comes after Reuters and other media reported on Friday that the Ministry of Justice is preparing a survey on Google to determine if the company violated the antitrust law of operating its online businesses.
Google said it had no comment on the report while Amazon, the FTC and the Justice Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the report.
