US employment demand remained strong in April
Demand for workers remained robust in the spring, with vacancies in April and the number of times workers quit their jobs, down from record highs last month.
The Ministry of Labor said on Wednesday that there were seasonally adjusted 11.4 million vacancies in April, a decrease from a revised record high of 11.9 million positions that reached last month. The number of times workers quit their jobs fell slightly to 4.4 million. Both are signs that the labor market is still unusually tight.
