UPS and CVS plan to deliver prescriptions via drone
The courier company already has some experience in delivering medical products thanks to its WakeMed partnership, which sees it delivering medical samples across WakeMed's campus. Of course, this is far more ambitious. UPS flies over residential areas and delivers a much wider range of products.
It is a strong incentive to move fast. The wing's agreement could give FedEx an early advantage in the new bidder space ̵[ads1]1; preventing a rival from getting too much technological ground. CVS will undoubtedly also counter Walgreens. And then there are pure bragging rights. This positions both UPS and CVS as technically advanced companies, although it may take a long time for a robotic aircraft to deliver your medicine.
