Uber confirms huge lease agreements for Old Post Office

New York-based developer 601W overhauls the long vacant property with a $ 800 million redevelopment to transform it into a modern office building.

Uber will officially take over the space on January 5, 2020, with remodeling work beginning in early spring.

Uber says it started looking at places in Chicago last fall. The company says it was attracted to the old post office because of its facilities, location, area developments and its location in Chicago's history.

CBRE Brokers Paul Reaumond and Ian Murphy represented Uber in the lease.
