Tyson is moving all corporate workers to Northwest Arkansas
Tyson will require all corporate employees to work at its world headquarters in Springdale, Arkansas, according to a press release. Tyson will move workers from Chicago, Downers Grove, Illinois and South Dakota to Arkansas over the next ten months, starting in early 2023. “That’s good news,” said Springdale Mayor Doug Sprouse. “With all the uncertainties economic news today, we’ve done very well.” This will affect about 1,000 workers, said Derek Burleson, company spokesman. Tyson will offer relocation assistance. “It speaks to the momentum we have in Northwest Arkansas,” said Nelson Peacock, managing director of the Northwest Arkansas Council. “Not only can you have a good job and work for a company like Tyson, but there̵[ads1]7;s a good quality of life here and they’ll be able to attract these people here.” People who don’t want to move can get severance pay, but this will be determined on a case-by-case basis, Burleson said. Springdale will be home to an expanded corporate campus called OneTyson. This will “foster closer collaboration, improve team member agility and enhance faster decision-making,” according to the press release.
