Twitter’s ex-security chief files whistleblower complaint over spam, privacy concerns

Twitter former security chief filed a whistleblower complaint against the company, accusing it of failing to protect sensitive user data and lying about its security issues, just weeks before the social networking platform’s courtroom battle with Elon Musk.

Peiter Zatko, who was fired as Twitter’s security chief earlier this year, filed the complaint last month with the Securities and Exchange Commission, according to a representative of Whistleblower Aid, an organization that helped file the claims. His submission says he “found extreme, serious deficiencies at Twitter in all areas of his mandate,”[ads1]; including privacy, digital and physical security, platform integrity and content moderation.
