Trump Fed Picked once found in contempt for non-payment of child support – Talking point memo
President Trump's election for a seat on the Federal Reserve Board was found contemptible for not paying his former wife's over $ 300,000 in alimony, child support and other charges, The Guardian reported Saturday.
A judge reprimanded the spokesman Stephen Moore for neglecting these debts in 2012, according to court records obtained by The Guardian.
Allison Moore filed for divorce in 2010, accusing her husband of "emotional and mental abuse" and engaged in an affair, per adult. She claimed she had to flee her home for fear. Stephen Moore admitted the allegations in the complaint, according to one of the archives dug up by the newspaper.
As the Guardian has noted, the highly conservative economist has expressed his "personal and national commitment to strong families."
Moore is seen by many other economists as deeply unqualified for this important post of the world's most powerful central bank. He has no doctorate and is best known for sparring with other commentators on cable news. Moore served as an advisor to the Trumps 201[ads1]6 campaign.
The conservative pundit has said he is "innovative to this game" and will be "on a steep learning curve though how the Fed operates" and what his role will require
Bloomberg reported this week that Moore also owes $ 75,000 to the IRS for unpaid taxes.
