Three Disney Springs restaurants engaged in credit card breaches
In a recent report by Earl Enterprises, a number of restaurants have been impacted by credit card breaches, including their three Disney Springs restaurants. Potentially affected restaurants include the following brands: Buca di Beppo, Earl of Sandwich Planet Hollywood Chicken Boy! Mixology and Tequila Taqueria. [1[ads1]9659009] The restaurant group has since launched an internal survey and engaged two leading cyber security companies. As part of the survey, they have been in contact with federal law enforcement agencies and cooperate with them.
Based on the survey, unauthorized persons appear to install malicious software at some points of sale by a number of Earl Enterprises restaurants. The malicious software was designed to record payment card data, which could include credit and debit card numbers, expiration dates, and in some cases, cardholder names. Online orders paid for online through third-party applications or platforms were not affected by this incident.
Earl Enterprises encourages guests who have eaten at these restaurants to carefully review credit and debit card statements as soon as possible for suspicious or unknown activity.
