The stock market rises after weekly losses
US stocks rose on Monday, at least temporarily changing direction after more than two months of volatility and losses.
The S&P 500 rose 0.7% in morning trading, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.4%. The technology-focused Nasdaq Composite Index was 0.8% higher. The three indices fell on Friday after data showed that employment growth slowed in May, although employers still added a strong 390,000 jobs.
