The stock market is moving higher as the S&P 500 rises, Nasdaq rises

The S&P 500 rose on Friday morning, on its way to extending a recent rise and taking a seven-week losing streak.

The broad market benchmark rose 1.6%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 258 points, or 0.8%, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 2.4%. On Thursday, the shares climbed, pushing the Dow to its fifth daily increase in a row.
