The Nissan Ariya concept looks almost mixed enough to go into production
It's hard to please car enthusiasts with concepts, isn't it? Things that are too wild are rejected as abstractions, so we are presented with something vaguely practical that feels boring. The Nissan Ariya concept seems inoffensive, but I find it hard to feel anything like excitement for it.
I see some blogs and websites describing Ariya as " ready for global driveways " and " basically production ready " because the vehicle's proportions look realistic, which is certainly, but all Nissan officially states is that the concept car "signals the dawn of a new era" and "could make it into production in the near future," which is pretty much all concepts car press release.
The design is intended to be a development of 2017 Nissan IMx concept . Since I'm sure you forgot about it, if you don't mind clicking the link I provided, imagine Ariya you're looking at here, but also a paper plane.
Ariya stepped out at this year's Tokyo Motor Show has a much more realistic interior than the IMx, with a fairly standard steering wheel and minimalist streak dominated by a wide infotainment display.
How Nissan sells it :
"Characterized by the terms" slim, "" seamless "and" sexy ", Nissan Ariya Concept has examples of this new design language through the exterior, including wide front screens, super-thin LED headlights, as well as the front shield (typically a grille on a gasoline-powered vehicle) embellished with a bespoke, illuminated Nissan emblem. The shield has a subtle geometric pattern that reveals itself when the electrified V movement signature is illuminated. ”
The Ariya concept is 181 inches long, about 76 inches wide and 64 inches high, making it slightly smaller but fatter. a Nissan Rogue (185 inches long, 72 wide and 69 high) for reference, so it's a fairly reduced vehicle despite large 21-inch wheels.
If Nissan is going to take a proper turn on the electric car Arched, a small crossover is certainly a logical place to move to from the competent but compact blade. This is a very popular car class and offering electrification can go a long way towards continuing widespread adoption of EVs.
I see a lot of Tesla Model X with a dash of Audi Q8 in Ariya's silhouette, but then I can never resist looking for comparable things in new cars.
