TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) – The Tampa-based Laser Spine Institute has announced its termination, leaving hundreds of employees without jobs.
On Friday, the company reported that it would stop operations effectively immediately, referring to financial problems.
The closure affects workers at the company's surgical center in Tampa, as well as elsewhere in Ohio, Arizona and Missouri.
"More than 500 employees in Tampa, Cincinnati, Scottsdale and St. Louis were reported this afternoon," said the company in a statement to FOX 1[ads1]3.
Laser Spine Institute specialized in minimally invasive spine surgery and said that It now appears to alert all patients who were beaten for operation on the company's closure. The company said it will provide facilities for all patients who need postoperative treatment.
"My heart goes out to our large, dedicated staff who have stuck with us through all our adversity and worked so tirelessly to help us straighten the ship," said Laser Spine Institute, CEO Jake Brace in a statement.
