The doors are shut shut for Huawei in Europe
Telecommunications company Orange has ruled out using Huawei products in its core 5G network in France, and Germany's Deutsche Telekom says it is undergoing the purchase of Huawei equipment.
The Chinese company, which sells smartphones and telecommunications equipment around the world, faces increased reviews in the US and other countries where officials have warned of potential national security risks using Huawei products.
"We do not expect to call Huawei for 5G," said Orange CEO Stephane Richard on Friday. "We work with our traditional partners ̵[ads1]1; they are Ericsson and Nokia."
"We pursue a multi-vendor strategy for the used network elements (manufacturers primarily Ericsson, Nokia, Cisco, Huawei)," said it in a statement. "Nevertheless, considering We currently have our procurement strategy. "
Huawei did not respond immediately to a request for comments sent outside business hours in China.
