The construction crane crashes in the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas in the Bahamas; 8 damaged

A crane tipped over on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship today without passengers on board the Bahamas, according to news reports.

Oasis of the sea ship was in the dry dock and out of service at the time of the accident, the cruise ship said in a statement.

Royal Caribbean issued a statement that eight people were injured in the accident.

"Earlier today, we responded to a side incident at Grand Bahama Shipyard, where Oasis of the Hav is currently in drydock. Shipyard Management has informed us of eight injuries, none of which are considered life threatening," the statement said. Miami TV station WSVN.

A video tweeted by the Bahamas Press showed the construction activity facing the vessel at the Great Bahamas Shipyard near Freeport.

"Big, big, big, big disaster", a man's voice can be heard on the video.

"We are aware of damage to the dock and construction cranes," Melissa Charbonneau, Royal Caribbean Director of Corporate Care, sent in a statement. "We are considering damage to the ship."
