An American Airlines flight to New York was forced to return to Logan airport after a bird strike during the start day Sunday, an airline spokesman said.
Flight 2163 to La Guardia had 99 passengers and four crew members on board when strikes occurred shortly after 10:08, according to Ross Feinstein in an email.
The plane landed 11 minutes later, and the passengers were taken to a replacement aircraft that departed at 1
The original plane, an Embraer E190, was inspected and returned to service, Feinstein said.
A spokesman for the FAA, Jim Peters, said the agency will investigate. No injuries were reported, he said.
