RALEIGH, NC (WLOS) – This weekend, someone from North Carolina may win a $ 495 million Powerball jackpot prize change.
"This is a significant jackpot," said Mark Michalko, CEO of the NC Education Lottery. "It's the first Powerball jackpot in 2019, and we'd love to see someone from North Carolina bring it home. We've been fortunate to have four jackpot winners so far, but look forward to getting a fifth."
Saturday's jackpot jackpot is $ 495 million annuity, worth $ 300.2 million cash. This is the eighth largest Powerball jackpot on record.
If no one wins the jackpot, it is expected to grow to $ 550 million for Wednesday's drawing.
