Like many of you, I suspect, I thought that the days of turning "cyber" on another word to make it sound cool and futuristic were made, again to root back in pre-dot-com -bysten.
Unfortunately, Tesla's Elon Musk seems dead to bring back the dark days because Big T registered "Cybertruck" as a trademark ahead of scheduled unveiling on Nov. 21
In its report, Teslarati pointed out that TeslaMotorClub's forum user GenSao located documents on the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS) that not only showed the trademark filing for "Cybertruck" but also for even more annoying "Cybrtrk" and the associated hard-to-read logo.
These submissions were all made on the same day – only November 6, 2019, which seems that Tesla was either playing their cards really, really close to the west or – and we feel this is more likely – hadn't decided to what to call the damn thing a few weeks before the debut.
Tesla did not immediately respond to Roadshow's request for comment.
