Tesla has promised its standard model 3 battery pack to get the price of the vehicle down to the much-anticipated $ 35,000 award, but now Tesla has removed something about the base model from its website – sending some fans to panic
$ 35,000 Tesla Model 3
The price of $ 35,000 has always been one of the most revolutionary features of Model 3.
It was part of Elon Musk's original "secret master plan" for Tesla: making a compelling mass
Tesla has promised a $ 35,000 premium before incentive, but the cheapest model 3 available today costs $ 42,000 after a recent fall in prices.
The price should be achieved with a smaller battery pack and less premium interior.
Tesla Model 3 Delays
In recent months, Tesla has listed the version of the vehicle coming within "4 to 6 months", but today it removed the timeline from its online configurator and web pages ite.
We received dozens of e-mail messages from model 3 reservation holders worried about the importance of Tesla removing the mention of the standard battery pack.
When asked about the update, a Tesla spokesman refused to comment on the change. [1
Elon Musk at Base Model 3
During a conference call with analysts for Tesla's Q4 financial results last year, Musk said he estimates that the new version of Model 3 will be available around mid-year: "We expect to introduce the Standard Model 3 program once in the middle of the year – it's a rough, rough guess."
The CEO said they needed to improve the cost structure.
"We are working hard to improve production costs, our overheads, our overheads, only costs in general."
When the Model 3 s rootstock started back in 2017, the company told the reservation holders that the basic version model 3 would be available early mid-2018.
It seems that many reservation holders have doubts about Tesla releasing the basic version of model 3 and that change on the website triggered some fear.
I know it's a bummer that Tesla is very late on the standard battery, but I think it still comes – though I admit it is strange that Tesla removed it from its website without giving any reason.
Elon also scared me with this earlier this month:
Model 3 starting cost now ~ $ 35k (after ~ $ 8k of credits and fuel savings) https: /t.co/46TXqRrsdr

For those who remember the Model S 40 who started at $ 50,000 and were quickly wound up, it almost looks like Tesla is again trying to find a way to get out of a promised based price. Regarding, I remain optimistic about base model 3 of $ 35,000. I don't think Tesla could get away without it.
And it seems feasible. The company currently produces a $ 42,000 model 3 with a larger battery, glass roof, and many premium features that can be shaved to bring down the price. I think it's currently in the high $ 30 series with a 50kWh or less battery and standard interior.
