Tesla opens showroom in China’s Xinjiang region at the Center of US Genocide Allegations
Tesla Inc. has opened a new showroom in Xinjiang, the remote region where the Chinese government is conducting a campaign for forced assimilation against religious minorities that has become a swamp for Western brands.
The Austin, Texas-based electric car maker began operations in the new showroom in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang, the company said in a post on December 31 on its official account on China’s popular Twitter-like social media platform Weibo.
