Basic Tesla Model 3 Standard Range recently begun to be delivered to the United States, and expert EV reviewer Alex Dykes ("Alex on Autos") received his personal vehicle just this weekend. Alex gives us a quick review of the interior and finds that trim, features, and materials seem to be pretty much the same as the Standard Range Plus version.
Alex tells us that the blue paint option was only charged $ 1000 extra in the end, instead of the $ 1500 list price when he originally ordered the order. His vehicle has power seats and appears to have the same audio speaker location as the Standard Range Plus model has. A pair of entry keycards are included.
The air conditioner, dashboard woodwork and upholstery seem to be the same as in Standard Range Plus. Alex notes that the map / navigation screen appears to be slightly different from what is on the Standard Range Plus, but plans to investigate this thoroughly in a more thorough follow-up video.
The EPA series of the base Tesla Model 3 Standard Range is, of course, software limited to the official 216 miles, as opposed to 240 miles (EPA) in the Standard Range Plus. Tesla has made it clear that the base model can be upgraded to the same specifications as the Standard Range Plus model for any software update at any time. The upgrade increases both range and upgrade of map / navigation.
Overall, it is good to see that Tesla has decided to make the base $ 35,000 version of the vehicle very attractive, with virtually the same interior as Standard Range Plus. You can still order the $ 35,000 baseball vehicle by talking to employees at a Tesla store or by calling Tesla customer service.
Having said all this, it would still make sense to reach the Standard Range Plus because 10% extra range, better navigation and inclusion of Tesla's Autopilot software are well worth the extra $ 4,500. It is worth noting that you will get a lot of the upgrade money back in your pocket when you sell the vehicle in the future.
