Tesla Model 3 was named "Vehicle of the Year" by Detroit News in December. Edmunds ranked the best-selling luxury vehicle in America in the fourth quarter. Clearly it is winning people over.
But the electric car is not without errors, especially when a polar vortex comes together. This winter, model 3 owners have taken to the social media to intervene that the car's retractable door handle is stuck in icy conditions. Normally, the handles open automatically when you approach the car or when pressed. But when they are partially covered in ice, they can get stuck.
Several blunt advice comes from a Canadian user: "Give it a taste and stop complaining."
Users can also heat the car's interior from the app, but some have reported difficulties even then.
Model 3 owners have experienced various other cold weather issues, including reduced range. Tesla CEO Elon Musk last week tweeted that "many cold weather improvements" were on the way.
How they will apply to frozen door handles is still to be seen.
