Tesla announced today that it is launching a model 3 lease and interestingly, it won't let people buy the cars after the lease is scheduled to use them in its scheduled self-propelled Uber-like service called "Tesla Network."
Along with a number of changes in his presentation today, Tesla also announced that it is launching its Model 3 rental program today:

Tesla confirmed that customers will not be able to purchase Model 3 at the end of the lease.
The Company says they have other vehicle plans:
"Please note that customers who opt for leasing over ownership will not be able to purchase their car at the end of the lease because with full autonomy coming in the future through an over-the-air software update, we plan to use these vehicles in the Tesla equestrian center. Customers can visit tesla.com/3 now to rent a model 3. "
Tesla has taken the plan to start a uber -like autonomous riding-seeking service when it reaches self-driving capacity. We expect to hear more details about the service on April 22.
