Tesla filed for a mixed shelf ban for an unknown amount on Thursday, a week after CEO Elon Musk suggested a capital income could be imminent.
Many analysts had predicted that the electric car manufacturer had to raise funds for the expansion, including building a factory in Shanghai, the upcoming model Y SUV and other projects.
