SANTA CLARITA, California (KCAL / KCBS / CNN) – These modern cars can do anything. And maybe some things they shouldn't have.
A couple in California were driving near Los Angeles when they noticed someone in a Tesla runway. It's not that unusual, but the driver seemed to be asleep.
Yeah, napping as he cruised down a big 70 to 75 mph course.
It was all captured on video.
Teslas comes with an autopilot feature, but the company says it's not an invitation to take a snooze.
"Autopilot is intended for use with a fully alert driver, who has his hands on the steering wheel and is prepared to take over at any time," the company says on its website.
The couple who recorded the video did not end up calling the police because they said the driver eventually woke up and no one was hurt.
The car remained in the lane all the time [1
