Tesla Deploys Improved Navigate-On-Autopilot solution with automatic track changes

Tesla never stops moving, and the software is the most dynamic part of the machine. This week, Tesla announced via a blog post that it rolls out a more polished version of its popular Navigate-on-Autopilot feature that includes an option to automatically change paths without driver confirmation.
The new functionality comes as an option for drivers, which can now choose to have automatic lane changes with Navigate-on-Autopilot (NoA) enabled by default at the start of a new navigation pane, with a prompt to prompt the driver to enable the function at the start of each turn or to require a confirmation from the driver for each track change.
Letter change confirmation can be overruled manually so that the car can change paths on its own. Of course, the drivers must be alert and able to take control of the vehicle, as the change does not make it a completely autonomous vehicle.
Early reports from Tesla owners indicate that the new Navigate-on-Autopilot is being distributed in version 2019.9.5 to a selected group of Tesla's Early Access Program.
Tesla said in the blog post that the new NoA features that drivers have already logged in are 66 million miles with NoA, with over 9 million successful lanes (with confirmation) at that time.
I am personally curious about how many track changes have been canceled at that time, when I have had a few cases where Autopilot attempted to merge into a gap that another car tried to merge from an adjacent track at the same time. [19659006] Anyway, the decision to roll out automagic lane changes is a sign that Tesla's confidence in the lane logic is robust enough to be rolled into production. The company said members of the Early Access program have already added more than half a million miles to the new solution, which speaks to the power of Tesla's phase function and software distribution.
Every software update and subversion is carefully tracked by avid Tesla followers, revealing some of the nuances underlying the Tesla software propagation strategy. By rolling out iterative software updates to different groups of users, Tesla can validate new functionality while comparing it with other revisions before sending updates to the masses.
Tesla recently renewed the Autopilot software package, which moved Navigate-on Autopilot functionality from the base Extended Autopilot package to the Full Self Driving package. The new functionality will be rolled out to owners who bought the Enhanced Autopilot package or who bought today's Autopilot and Full Self Driving packages.
