SAN FRANCISCO USA government regulators accuse software maker Oracle of engaging in discriminatory practices that resulted in thousands of women, black and Asian employees underpaid by more than $ 400 million.

The allegations were made on Tuesday in a submission in a two-year case, which is being pursued by a part of the US Department of Labor investigating wage practices of public contractors. The agency estimates that Oracle has public contracts worth around $ 1[ads1]00 million annually.

The submission shows that Oracle underpaid women and ethnic minorities for similar work done by white men with as much as 25 percent. The alleged practice affected more than 5,000 women, more than 11,000 Asians and fewer than 30 responded from 2013 to 2016.

Oracle refused to comment.
