Target Checkout apparently registers Down Nationwide

Checkout records at several Target stores were apparently down Saturday afternoon.

There were reports of long lines of frustrated customers at Target stores in Exton, Pennsylvania and Mays Landing, New Jersey. People around the country complained of similar registry crashes from Washington, DC to Chicago to Waxahachie, Texas.

Goal through Twitter said, "We are aware that guests are currently unable to purchase at Target stores. Our teams are now debugging and we apologize."

The company did not provide immediate information on what could cause outbreaks, but described it as a "system problem" and said it would provide updates "as soon as possible."

This is an evolving story. Update this page for updates.
