Super Bowl 2019: Kia shows off Telluride and West Point, Georgia, the city that builds it

The brand new Telluride is the big star of Kia's Super Bowl ad program in 2019, and we believe big.

Fresh of his big debut in Detroit, Kia Telluride is now the star of the brand's 2019 Super Bowl commercial along with the people of West Point Georgia who will build it.

Kia's ad entitled "Give it all" is of the typical "make them feel emotional, and they will remember our ad" variety, and it's quite successful. In it, a child tells us how the city is not known, but it hopes that the car it builds will be. It's moody and set to a score that can come from a Terence Malick movie.

Kia also launched a mini-documentary about West Point called "Just A Small Georgia Town" that watches for over five minutes and tells the story of a failing textile town that was revitalized by the construction of a car factory. It feels a bit of self-satisfaction, but we are suckers for this kind of thing, and this piece was relatively well done.

The final piece of Kia's three-dimensional big game plan is something called "The Great Unknowns." This program effectively took Kia's Super Bowl ad budget that would have gone towards paying a celebrity and using it to pay for college or technical school for qualified students in need.

If you somehow forgot it, Kia Telluride is Kia's largest SUV. It is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 that sets off just shy of 300 horsepower and 261

foot-pounds of torque. It's packed with all the security technology that Kia has, including lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and more.

Kia goes straight to the emotions, but as far as we are concerned, as long as it doesn't show us more terrible CGI reverse aging Steven Tyler recordings, it can do anything whatsoever.
