Stock markets fall ahead of Fed minutes
US equities fell ahead of minutes from the Federal Reserve which will be scrutinized for insight into the state of the economy and the central bank’s efforts to tame inflation through rate hikes.
The S&P 500 fell 0.4% early in the afternoon on Wednesday. The broad benchmark index rose 0.2 percent on Tuesday. The Nasdaq Composite Index turned lower after a first explosion, falling 0.3%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.5 percent.
