Dover restaurant closes a week ago staff test positive for covid-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has been tough for restaurants, and with cases increasing again, some are making the difficult choice to close their doors at a busy time of year. Patty B’s in Dover just celebrated its 10th anniversary in early December. Co-owners Bob and Patty Barish said that after two employees tested positive for COVID-19, followed by two more and then two more, they chose to close for about a week. The restaurant sells some products ready to go in the oven, such as lasagna, but Barishes said the closure would mean a loss of revenue. They said they made a difficult choice to protect their employees and customers. “We have nothing but positive feedback,” said Bob Barish. They said the recent recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to reduce the isolation restrictions for those catching COVID-19 helped with their decision.
