SoftBank is considering launching a third vision fund

Global technology investor SoftBank Group corp. is considering launching a new giant startup fund after ill-timed bets and massive losses weighed on two previous attempts to dominate startup investing, according to people familiar with discussions at the company.

The Tokyo-based technology conglomerate, by far the world’s biggest startup investor in recent years, is likely to use its own money for what would be the third SoftBank Vision Fund if it goes ahead with the plan, one of the people said.
