Sheryl Sandberg leaves Meta due to investigation, burnout – deadline

The Wall St. Journal reports that Meta Platforms COO Sheryl Sandberg may in part have been asked to resign due to a company survey of her activities, including a review of her use of corporate resources to help plan her upcoming wedding.
From May, the review was ongoing, said WSJ. The investigation also looks at allegations that Sandberg pressured Britain Daily mail to “put on the shelf” an article about Sandberg’s ex-girlfriend, Activision Blizzard Inc. CEO Bobby Kotick, and a temporary restraining order from 2014 against him.
“None of this has anything to do with her personal decision to leave,” Caroline Nolan, a Meta spokeswoman, told WSJ. She said earlier that the Kotick case was resolved.
The WSJ story also allowed Sandberg to “tell people she feels burned out and that she has become a punching bag for the company̵[ads1]7;s problems.”
