Stocks traded around flatline on Thursday, after fresh data underscored the resilience of the US economy in the face of Federal Reserve interest rate hikes.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) rose about 0.4% shortly after the open. The S&P 500 (^GSPC) and Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) were both up around 0.1%.
A sharp upward revision in second-quarter GDP and a drop in jobless claims on Thursday reflected recent releases that reflected strength in the economy, lifting hopes for corporate earnings going forward.
