Shares rise, lifted by dealer results
US stocks rose on Thursday, pushing the Dow Jones Industrial Average up for a fifth consecutive day after strong results from traders lifted sentiment across the market.
Blue chips added 1.8%, or about 580 points, while the S&P 500 gained 2.2%. The technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite climbed 3%, helped by a rise in shares of Apple, Microsoft, Amazon.com and Tesla.
