[ads1]

US stocks faltered in early trading on Wednesday with investors looking forward to minutes from the Federal Reserve’s recent political meeting in hopes of gaining new clues about plans to wean markets from stimulus measures from the pandemic.

The S&P 500 hovered around the flat line a day after the broad index retreated from record highs as technology stocks fell. The technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index fell 0.5%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average – which set its own record on Tuesday – rose 0.3%.
