Shares are reeling after suffering their worst day since June 2020
U.S. stocks vacillated between small gains and losses on Wednesday, closing off a wild trading day spurred by a stronger than expected inflation report.
The S&P 500 fell 0.1%, a day after the benchmark fell 4.3% in its worst selloff since June 2020. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.3%, while the technology-focused Nasdaq Composite rose 0.1%.
