SEE: Deer get loose in Ohio Walmart store – News – The Palm Beach Post

WOOSTER, OHIO – Maybe the deer just wanted to get out of the cold.

Or maybe it was trying to get a head start on some holiday shopping.

At least a young doe caused quite a ruckus Wednesday afternoon as it wandered into Walmart on the city's North End.

"When we got up front to check out, we heard a commotion from the front door," said Bert Moore, 43, of Wooster, who stopped in the store around 3:30 pm Wednesday with his wife Dawn.

The couple only picked up some things for dinner, but when they saw the deer, they began to follow it up and down the aisle.

"You could hear it kicking in shelves as it went through the store," said Bert Moore, who began taking a video of the animal's journey through Walmart.

However, after a few minutes, another passer-by said that Moore should stop taking pictures and try to help the deer.

"You can tell it was going to hurt themselves or someone else," Moore said. So he grabbed the rope, which had grown tired and slid around the store's tile floor, around his neck, and continued to put on the animal to keep it quiet.

"It was a little easy to get her down, but she struggled," he said.

At this point, another shopper, an avid hunter, had come over and helped Moore and the store staff to get the animal out the back door of the store. Once the group got the toe to the back door, it popped up, ran across Friendsville Road and disappeared into a nearby field, Moore said.

"It was pretty neat to see the deer get up and walk away knowing it was unharmed," he said. "It's a good feeling."
