LONDON – Ryanair faces criticism after a video published online appeared to show crew members not to remove a passenger who launched a racist tirade against a fellow traveler.
The video, uploaded to social media by David Lawrence, showed a man throwing racist insults on an older black woman sitting in the same row and requiring she to move seats on board a flight from Barcelona to London on Friday.
It was not clear what led to controversy. Lawrence told ITV that the man abused both the woman and her daughter, but airline companies failed to divorce him from the plane.
Budget airline tweeted on Sunday that it had seen the movie and reported the incident to the police. It did not give further comment.
